Yale Postdoctoral Association (YPA)

The Yale Postdoctoral Association (YPA) is a volunteer-led organization composed of and managed by Yale postdocs. Through social events and professional development opportunities, YPA aims to:

  • Foster a strong sense of community and engagement among postdocs at Yale
  • Support postdocs in having a fulfilling and successful experience during their time here

They’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers—if you’re interested in getting involved, feel free to reach them at ypa@yale.edu.

YPA Buddy Program

The YPA Buddy Program connects incoming postdocs with current Yale postdocs who can offer guidance and social support. Buddies help answer questions about Yale, New Haven, and postdoc life in general.

Yale School of Medicine Black Postdoctoral Association (YBPA)

The Yale School of Medicine Black Postdoctoral Association (YBPA) is dedicated to supporting the unique needs of postdoctoral fellows and associates from groups traditionally underrepresented in science.

YBPA’s mission is to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and culturally conscious community that promotes the success and well-being of all postdocs at Yale. With a particular focus on enhancing support systems for Black postdocs—where disparities are often most pronounced—YBPA works to build a stronger, more connected postdoctoral community across the university.

We welcome all who are interested in building a more inclusive and supportive environment at Yale.
