The question of how long lab-based researchers will be paid is under discussion not only at Yale but on a national level because the compensation for most researchers is derived from external grants, contracts, and fellowships. Currently (on April 1, 2020) most funding agencies allow for the continuation of salary and stipend support. We will share any information that we receive from university leadership and funding agencies.
Note that Yale already has a policy in place that requires faculty mentors to provide at least 3 months written notice if planning to terminate a position prior to the end date.
