Introduction of School/Department:
The Clinical and Translational Research Accelerator, part of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine, is composed of a collaborative group of physician-scientists, research fellows, post-docs, post-grads, biostatisticians, nurses, and study coordinators. Our group prides itself in providing strong mentorship for trainees, promoting academic excellence, and achieving work-life balance.
Overview of the Position:
Education:
- Most applicants in this position later go on to medical school. This position will help prepare postgraduate associates towards achieving that goal. Specifically, the position will provide an opportunity to interact with both patients and healthcare professionals in hospitals, clinics, and laboratory settings. There will also be opportunities to participate in abstract and manuscript publication and to lead sub-studies. The trainees will interact with multiple PIs in the group who are all physician-scientists and Yale School of Medicine faculty.
Training:
- The position provides hands-on training in patient-oriented biomedical research with multiple PIs and research coordinators. Training will include clinical data and quality management, statistical analysis, consenting/interacting with patients, developing presentations, biospecimen processing, reporting at team meetings, and data management.
Mentoring:
- Weekly lab meetings to discuss upcoming and ongoing projects, update on progress with additional regularly- scheduled project-specific meetings as needed with faculty mentor.
Location:
- The Anylan Center, 300 Cedar Street, New Haven, and 60 Temple St., Ste 6C, New Haven.
Duration:
- 1 or 2 years available
Qualifications:
- Requirements for the position include a BA/BS with expected graduation in June 2026 or earlier. Prior experience in a research laboratory or hospital is preferred but not required.
