Postdoctoral Associate – Ophthalmology and Visual Science – Demb Laboratory

The Demb laboratory in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science seeks to hire a postdoctoral associate for funded studies on the function of neuronal circuits in the mammalian retina in both health and disease. Projects investigate cellular and synaptic mechanisms for early-stage visual processing (PMID: 38641407; PMID: 39602271) and mechanisms of neurodegeneration (PMID: 39985791).

Requirements include a doctoral degree in neuroscience, physiology, or a related field. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal based on the availability of funds. Preferred candidates would have experience with electrophysiology (e.g., patch clamp recording), two-photon imaging, confocal microscopy, and strong programming/data analysis skills. Candidates should have one or more first-author publications and be capable of leading projects in partnership with the PI.
