Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Quantum Dynamics — Department of Applied Physics (Prof. John Sous)
The Department of Applied Physics at Yale University seeks to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Theoretical Condensed Matter and Quantum Science. The candidate will work jointly with Prof. John Sous. The starting time is negotiable. Salary is commensurate with experience and is in the range $68,000–$69,500. For benefits available to postdocs, please see the Postdoctoral Associates Benefits 2025 page. The candidate is expected to work in theoretical condensed matter, quantum information science and related fields (non-equilibrium dynamics, quantum simulation with tensor networks, etc.).
A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required. The initial appointment will be for one year, and is renewable for another one or two years, depending on the availability of funding and mutual agreement. Candidates with a strong research agenda and solid background in condensed matter, quantum science are preferred.
Applicants should send a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and up to three scholarly publications. Applicants should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be emailed to Prof. John Sous (Email: john.sous@yale.edu). Review of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. For further information about the position, please contact Prof. Sous.
