Position Description:
We are looking for a postdoctoral associate to join the Yale PET Center with focus on preclinical and clinical PET/CT and PET/MR imaging for cardiac applications.
Responsibilities involve working with preclinical large animal models, preclinical and clinical PET imaging, image analysis, kinetic modeling, data analysis, and results dissemination. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to receive extensive training in all areas by experts in the different fields. Primary mentors will be Drs. Marc Normandin and Felicitas Bijari, Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have some prior hands-on experience in preclinical PET/CT or PET/MR imaging and kinetic modeling. However, interested candidates with a strong computational background and interest in getting involved in medical imaging and preclinical models are also strongly encouraged to apply. A PhD in biomedical engineering, physics, or a related field is required. The successful candidate will be expected to plan PET imaging studies, conduct them together with a team of other scientists and research technicians, and lead the data analysis. They will be trained by their mentors on all different aspects of their work. Besides cardiac PET studies, the successful candidate will – based on their research interest – have the option of participating in other PET studies as well.
